Welcome to Financial Foot in Mouth

Unfortunately for our experts, the fact that their predictions may be expressed with admirable conviction does not always make them correct.

I believe the time has arrived for our persuasive forecasters to be held to account for some of their more wayward pronouncements – and, with your help, this website provides the opportunity to do just that.

And, to make things interesting, contributors will be entered into a quarterly competition and given the chance to win fine champagne or wine.

The Great Boom set to go on

…the Dow hitting 40,000 by the end of the decade, the NASDAQ advancing at least ten times from its October 2001 lows to around 13,500, and potentially as high as 20,000 by 2009…..the Great Boom resurging into its final and strongest stage in 2007, and even more fully in 2008, lasting until late 2009 to early 2010

Editor's Notes

In the event, the Dow just about made it past 14,000 and the Nasdaq peaked at a level of 5,132 – close, but no cigar.
